Look slike i’m going to have to enter a different heat for the 2009 UKBC. The South West one falls directly on two days of team meetings at work so I wont even be able to spectate! I’m looking in to competing in the Cardiff heat instead, since it’s the next closest to me.

And no, i’m not scared of the competition in the SW heat! Although there’re some good baristas entering this year.

Random thought of the day: Did you know that the London Stock Exchange was formed in a coffee shop?!

Coffee shops of the 17C and 18C were like meeting places for accademics, traders and politicians. Lots of brokers used to meet in a shop called Jonothan’s Coffee Shop, the trading got a bit out of hand and they were aksed to leave, so they set up a new coffee shop called ‘Jonothan’s New Coffee Shop’, the name was changed only a few years later to The London Stock Exchange.
