Pampero Anniversario Signed
Just thought i’d share (the picture of) my signed bottle of Pampero Anniversario, scrawled on by none other than the master distiller of Pampero, Luis Figueroa.
I asked him to sign it in Spanish, but translated the message reads:
“To Tristan,
I hope you enjoy this aged rum,
Luis Figueroa
Master of Rum
26/06/08″
It’s pretty cool because the bottle comes in a kind of suede sack, so I can drink the rum and replace the empty bottle with a new one, but still have the signature on the sack!
Pampero is a Venezuelan rum, this bottle is the Anniversario with an age statement of 23 years. For me Anniversario is rich but not too sweet, some licourice, chcolate and coffee notes with caramel and aged characters dominating.
The Especial is very nice too, aged for 2 years and great in a mojito.
