Congratulations Hugo!
Earlier I got a very excited phone call from Sarah, Hugo’s other half and the brains behind the WBC operation. Hugo came 10th overall which is a brilliant result and a credit to the UK and Cornwall. I sat down with a shot of his espresso blend earlier and I have to say: it’s a cracker!
I’m told 51 countries competed this year and the top 6 will now go through to compete in the final tomorrow. Stephen Morrissey the Irish Barista champion and fellow blogger made it into the top six so we will all be rooting for him tomorrow, good luck Stephen. As well as Soren Stiller Markussen from Denmark who is a lovely chap as well.
Also into the finals go Daniel Remheden of Sweden, Michael Yung of Canada, Liesbeth Sleijster of The Netherlands and David Makin of Australia, good luck to you guys too.
