WBC This Week
The 2008 World Barista Championship will be taking place at the SCAE Wonderful Coffee show in Copenhagen this week from 19-22nd June.
Representing Cornwall UK is Hugo, who I have trained with a lot in the past and I know his routine as well as anyone. I reckon Hugo’s strengths lie in (as well as great coffee) his personable charm and his ability to cope with the pressure well.Hugo is competing in the middle of the day on 19th.
Of course we’ll be proud of Hugo however well he does… well… if he does really bad we might pretend he wasn’t even there. Anyway, good luck Hugo, oh… one more thing, big mistake leaving your cafe in the hands of those lunatics, free espresso anyone?!

Also representing Cornwall in the World Latte art competition is Phil ‘Ice’ Gevaux (aka PIG). So cool he’ll probably not even be aware he’s competing, beware other competitors: Phil can freeze a man solid he’s so damn cool.
