Rediscovering my love for Spirits
I’m thrilled to say that i’m getting rather engrossed in spirits once again. Lots of tasting and training sessions on all sorts of liquor over the last few weeks have well and truly fortified my pasion for alcohol. I’ve met some great people, Ian Williams (JW distiller), Colin Dunn (Whisky writer and all round expert - not to mention Kernow boy) and Roger Mallindine, one of only 11 Masters of Whisky in the world(!!), a man that has been a brand ambassador for around 40 years i’m told.
Sounds like a lot of whisky chat, but I reckon i’ve sampled over 60 different spirits in two weeks covering pretty much all of the categories. New things learnt? Vodka varies more than I thought, shameless plug but please try Ciroc if you haven’t already - french grape vodka with an incredible citrus nose. Whisky is amazing. Brandy is not quite as interesting as I once thought, and tequila still has a place close to my heart.
I’m looking forward to a distillery visit this coming week, full report: highly likely.
