flickr Film Roll:

It seems that coffees relentless efforts to take control of my entire life are not coming to an end just yet. Our recent trip to Masteroast was very interesting because I got to try components of blends and single origin coffees which I hadn’t really had the chance to experience before. In particular, drinking the Yirgacheffe from Hugo’s blend opened my eyes and showed me how unbelievably unique and different some coffee can be (the Yirgacheffe in question, though unbalanced, tasted bizarely cheesy to us, but even more bizarely – cheesy in a good way!).

I still have a huge amount of love for my Origin blend, but since getting back from the competition i’ve been trying to drink a variety of coffees in an attempt to lay out the boundaries of the playing field and work out how deep the rabbit hole goes! Very, i’d imagine.

If any of you guys know of anything particularly unique or interesting, or even just something that you think is tasty, please let me know. Currently i’m limited to espresso, french press and aeropress (which is getting a lot of use at the moment). Thanks for reading.

Which Geth are you drinking Lukas? I haven’t tried the lots other than the one I used and the AB of that crop but I know they all sold out a while ago. Is it still as strong?

Once we are roasting Tristan then I’ll grab your postal address, we’ll send you down some stuff to taste – we’d love the feedback!

Coffee taster for Square Mile… hmmm, I could think of worse things. I see you’re over the jet lag judging by the time of your comment James?!

Lukas, I tried a Gethumbwini dripped at Monmouth Coffee when we were in London the other week. It was very nice, good amount of fruit and ’sweetness’, I will get hold of some for home.

Also drinking Costa Rica CoE Finca de Licho (from Hasbean) in the areopress, man it’s good – I get blueberries.
