I’m off to Italy for a couple of nights to CMA HQ with the Origin boys for some training on the Plus4U, espresso/food/wine consumption, and general banter. I’ll take lots of pictures and post something when i’m back.

My name is Tristan Stephenson and I am (in one sentence) a professional spirits and cocktail trainer, award winning barista, home brewer and all round alchemist. This blog is about my experiences with all things liquid as I attempt to find the answer to the question - What makes a good drink?
A lot of the time I will ramble on about events that I have been to or partaken in, and sometimes I might write a review about a bar, cafe, bottle or competition. what are good drinks to have in italy?
Erm, well if you’re talking about cocktails i’d go for the italian classics… Martinez, Bellini, Negroni, Americano. I also drank quite a lot of ‘Scrupino’ on my recent trip which is a prosecco and lemon sorbet drink.
Grappa is a popular Italian spirit made from grape pomace, but I also like Italian brandy as well.
Needless to say, the espresso is pretty good too, though with a fair amount of robusta.
