Candy Bar, Edinburgh [Bar Review]
Located on posh George Street in the heart of Edinburgh, this is a very busy and highly approachable, unpretentious bar.

I nside the L shaped room has a large bar area with an extensive array of spirits and seating around the edge for both eating and drinking. The cocktail list contains a solid selection of decent classic drinks and a ‘Candy Bar Selection’ of quirkily named drinks which are basically subtle variations of classics. The ‘Candy Cosmo’ is a Cosmopolitan siding towards the orange side of things and ‘Vanilla Skyy’ is a blueberry, cranberry & vanilla vodka based drink which is very drinkable. The Whisky Sour (Bailie Nicol Jarvie) is well balanced and does the trick whilst the Caipirinha could do with a little more lime and a little less sugar.

Bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable though pretty hard worked as they try to keep up with demand of 2-for-1 on beer & cocktails early evening.
Overall a nice entry level bar with a simple list of fairly well executed drinks, ok prices (great value if you can get them 2-for-1), and a good buzz provided by above average urban tunes.
